Good comfort food. Had baked fish "Friday fish Fry".lots of food, great hash browns. interior is a bit dowdy, but it's a busy, productive place. Wanted to have their legendary breakfast bot got there too late. Will go again to try that out.

Friendly service, good food and great prices. On a trip on up north we chose Chick A Dee's ahead of time due to the online reviews, and we were not disappointed. The breakfast menu is quite extensive.

Dinner was subpar. The pork tenderloin sandwich was dry. No lettuce, tomato, or mayo on it either. Low price, but I got what I paid for. I went on a Wednesday night, so ill give them a benefit of a doubt.

i havent been here in about 10 years, and just had the most random craving for it. Thanks to a quick google search, I am elated to see it is still open for business. HANDS DOWN the best fish fry in Eau Claire. Get the hash browns. YUM. Still thinking of you, a decade later and 2000 miles away! Keep up the good work.

Spent a long night on Water St? Is your head pounding, your stomach queasy, and you might pass out at any moment? Chick-A-Dee's is the cure. Fill yourself up with delicious pancakes, sausage, bacon, french toast, whatever you want. And you know what? It won't break the bank. You can have a whole freaking breakfast for under $10, easy. I was shocked, just SHOCKED the first time I ate there and had three plates of food full of pancakes, bread, sausages, eggs, glasses of OJ, and the bill comes - something like $8. Wow. I love this place. I no longer live there, but damn, if I did, I would eat there ALL THE TIME.

Best breakfast in town.. I've eaten at almost every restaurant and bar for breakfast and this has always been our go to. And yes I love the old dinner feel.

Pulling up outside Chick-A-Dee's, my first impression was that it looked like a south side Milwaukee corner bar. We arrived at about 10 am on a Monday and the obvious locals at the bar across the street were already getting their drink on. Speaking of across the street, parking is in a lot across the street from the restaurant. The inside of Chick-A-Dee's definitely yells greasy spoon. I had French toast and sausage. My friend had eggs and toast. My food was only so-so. My friend's eggs must have been some kind of liquid egg substitute because they were the strangest consistency. I will say the coffee was good and prices are low, but overall Chick-A-Dee's wasn't anything to rave about.

My family and I are from WI... we had never visited this restaurant and decided to give it a try for late breakfast. Based on the reviews we were excited to give this place a try. The restaurant itself isn't truly a restaurant. It's a room the size of a large living room with way too many tables shoved in. The decor, what decor there is, is throw back 70's. Quaint if you are into that type of thing. Service, however, was phenomenal. Very attentive to us during a quite busy time. The food as others have posted was plentiful. Regular breakfast food nothing to write home about. Avoid the sausage gravy!!! Not good at all, soupy and tasteless. My husband ordered the strawberry pancakes and loved it. The price of food is good but quality not withstanding. My family and I frequently support hometown business here around our area.. we will not be back. Skip this place and pay a little more for food that is edible or stay home and make it yourself. Super disappointed!!

Alyssa R, our 11 week-old child, & I took a trip to Wausau, to visit a sick uncle. I checked Yelp for a halfway spot to stop & get an All-You-Can-Eat Friday Night Fish Fry. Chick-A-Dee's ended up being that place. Driving up to the restaurant, we look for the parking lot. They don't have one. We find a legal spot on the street, and make our way in. As we reach the door, I saw a permanent sign on the window advertising the AYCE Friday Night Fish Fry. I also noticed the hours of operation. They are only open till 8pm. We got there about 7:10pm. Walking in, we see there isn't a table in the place. All booths. It has the feel of a cheaper Country Kitchen. There is two tube TVs in opposite corners. Both had CNN on. At least half of the booths were occupied. We chose our booth, and get greeted by a young lady asking us if we had an idea of our beverage choice. Alyssa R goes with Coke. I go with water. She drops off a couple of menus, and says she'd be right back. I take a look into the menu, and notice that it's a cheap place. There couldn't have been anything on the menu over 8 or 9 bucks. A different lady, Jean, drops off the Coke, and asks me if just water was OK, or did I want something else. I tell her just water. Jean asks if we knew what we wanted to eat. Both of us go for the Fish Fry. She then asks if we would like baked, Cajun, fried, or mixed. Oooo yeah. Bonus marks for that. Alyssa R goes with fried and Cajun mix. I go with just fried. Jean then asks if we would like french fries or hash browns. Bonus marks again! Fries for us both. Jean then asks us if we wanted applesauce, coleslaw, or cottage cheese. Wow. Impressive. Cole slaw for us both. Jean came back in a couple of minutes with our coleslaw. A small bowl of creamy, crunchy, sweet goodness. Alyssa R detected a hint of pineapple? I thought so, too. Supper came in 10 minutes. First impression. Nice! Two, huge pieces of deep fried pollack. So big, they hung off the sides of the plate! Next to them, crinkle cut fries. Almost like the O'rida kind. Crispy on the outside. Soft and steamy on the inside. My wife's Cajun piece was pan fried, and very well seasoned. Woo Wee. Real nice spice! The deep fried was great. Great batter. Just enough to cover the fillet. It puffed up nice in the oil. They didn't have lemon wedges. So, Jean brought lemon juice packets. That worked alright. It also came with a plastic ramekin of tartar sauce. Flavor was great. Pollack was flaky and fresh. When Jean came to check up on us, she asked if we wanted to put a reorder of fish in. I asked for two Cajun. Alyssa R went with one Cajun and one deep fried. Alyssa R also asked for some more coleslaw. Jean informed her that it's just fish that's all you can eat. Boo. The Cajun came out more like 4 pieces. Big plate of spicy, flaky, pan fried perfection. This spice is not for the timid. It made my nose run. It was GOOD. After digging through all the flaky bits of spicy goodness on the plate, we discover two nicely seasoned full pieces on the bottom of the plate. We decide to take these along, and ask Jean for a take out box. She said that's not allowed, because it's all you can eat, right here in the restaurant. She also said she would make an exception this time, and allow it. Hurray, Jean! Jean came back with the box, and also the check. Just under 21 bucks. $8.95 for the All-You-Can-Eat Friday Night Fish Fry. Holy Cow! A steal of a deal. The ambiance of the place, well, leaves a lot to be desired. But the place doesn't come off as fancy, or try to be. It is what it is. Cheap & good. Choices for the fish fry lead to the higher star rating. 3 choices of fish, 2 choices of potato, 3 choices of sides. That alone was awesome. If there wasn't all those options, probably 3 stars. Because of the proximity of this restaurant to our house, this isn't going to be a place we visit on a regular basis. However, this is the type of place Alyssa R & I look for in the Cities. Good service. Good, cheap food. This is a great spot to stop on a road trip into Wisconsin. It comes recommended by us.

Real talk: the food is average, but I'm giving Chick-a-dees a high rating because for price you pay -- the quantity and quality is amazing! You don't have to go into the double digits at all to have a giant meal with all sorts of stuff. Its definitely way better than Perkins. This place is PACKED and is definitely a favorite go-to for locals and college students looking for cheap and filling options so get here early! Out of all my night out's as an undergrad at UW-Eau Claire I think this place captures the spirit of the city unlike a lot of other places I've been to.

Chick-a-dee's has been my family's go-to breakfast spot for years now, so any time I come home, I insist we go here at least once during my trip. It is this tiny cafe in the North side of Eau Claire, with some of the cheapest prices I have seen anywhere. I am pretty sure nothing on the menu is over $7 dollars, and that is for a steak.Every time I come in, they have the exact same 'special' on their white board (which is usually hand dry-erased with pictures of the seasons, today they had pumpkins), and that special is biscuits and gravy, full or half order. Get the special. 2 biscuits with really creamy, spicy, sausage studded gravy for $1.90? Damn it feels good to be out of the city. If you live in Eau Claire, or if you are visiting for any reason, stop by this place. Your wallet and stomach will thank you.

Nothing special that you couldn't make on your own in 5 mins at least for the breakfast foods we had! Besides the food the waitress was TERRIBLE!
